Introduction

If you are new to English teaching, then the certificate is designed for you. It is intended for trainees who wish to embark on a career in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. This is a programme of at least 35 hours which gives you an introduction to the theory and practice of contemporary English teaching. It covers the essential components needed to equip one with the necessary skills to land that first job as an English teacher. The programme provides an insight into the challenges facing the learner and the role of the teacher. The up-to-date and practical course provides a path for those desiring a fast entry into the teaching industry or who are exploring teaching English as a possible career without an initially huge outlay in investment.

Assessment Prior and After the Course

• Prior to the admission of every learner, you are required to undergo a written English proficiency test and an interview with our trainer to access your ability to write and speak English fluently. Upon the completion of the proficiency test, you will then be offered a placement into the course.
• As part of the course, you will be required to complete a Final Course Assignments. The assignments are set by the London Teacher Training College (UK) as well as a practicum assessment set by our partner, Impart Learning Pte Ltd. The assignments are open book assessment and it will be marked and graded by two examiners in UK. All learners are required to complete the final assignments and practicum within two weeks from the end of the course.

Academic Qualifications to be Awarded

• The Certificate in TEFL will be awarded by the London Teacher Training College, United Kingdom
